I first met Evan Shinners at his 2010 Juilliard graduation piano recital which totally blew me and the audience away. His artistry, humor and hip approach to Bach continue to inspire me. Depicted here in his honor is one of his reported favorites: Bach Passacaglia and Fugue in C Minor. I chose bars 9-17 because it is the first time in the piece all four voices are heard together in establishing the fugal theme. 2014. Decoupage paper, tissue paper and thread on paper: 17" x 23"
